Lora-Ellen McKinney, Community Creator
Lora-Ellen McKinneyLora-Ellen McKinney is a psychologist, minister, and writer who epitomizes Sevenfold Healing’s practice of personal and world healing. Lora-Ellen also epitomizes self-guided healing, having carried a heavy burden of physical limitations from birth. While pursuing her ivy league college degree, Lora-Ellen was obliged to live in the school infirmary. Did she allow her health limitations to stop her from pursuing her vocation? No! Lora-Ellen’s strength and can-do spirit enable her to realize her abilities and to inspire the Creative Team and all who know her.
Raised in a family who cooperated closely with Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights movement, Lora-Ellen was bred on grass roots activism and has worked ceaselessly to heal the racial wounds that divide America and keep us from making good on our promise of freedom and responsibility. When Karen Armstrong came to town to recognize Seattle’s participation in the Compassionate cities movement, Lora-Ellen was there to welcome Karen and to recount Seattle’s history of interracial cooperation and interfaith reconciliation. When the time is right, Lora-Ellen will shape our online community and advise the Team on community formation. If circumstances permit, she will also write a non-fiction book for the Interbeing Cycle on the topic of healing Time Debts.
